Reality of Hunger & Homelessness
No one should have to worry about whether they will have food on their plate or a roof over their head. But the reality is that hunger and homelessness are widespread problems that affect far too many people.
In the United States many Americans are living on the edge, forced to choose between basic necessities like purchasing food, paying rent, or going to the doctor.
46.7 million Americans live below the poverty level
578,000 Americans are homeless on a typical night
49 million Americans are at risk of suffering from hunger
1 in 5 children in the U.S. live in poverty*
Right here in Oklahoma, 1 in 6 people are facing hunger and food insecurity daily. In Tulsa alone, each night almost 700 people are living with the harsh realities of homelessness. Our parent organization, John 3:16 Mission, is daily working to serve each of those populations and others in need throughout the city of Tulsa. At BeeLoved Trading 100% of the profits from sales are used to provide vocational training for the homeless, recovering addicts, and under-resourced men, women, youth and children we serve in our community.
